I was genuinely surprised by the consistency of Bologna, from visuals to tastes. The red bricks, one of the defining characteristics of the city, are so warmly appealing and welcoming, just as the meat sauce that the city is known for. In between the streets and alleyways, there are always green branches dotted around. Isn’t that just like how little basil leaves are placed over dishes, bringing a bit of liveliness to the big bowl of pasta.
